We’re always on the lookout for interesting and unique AirBnB listings for a couple of reasons – first, we think you might like them.

But more importantly, we manage AirBnB properties for others.  Sometimes people have something that is very desirable that they never imagined could be marketed.  We find unusual and offbeat listings to try to spark our readers to say “A Bookstore? In Scotland? Well, what about my friend’s bookstore in Chatham?

Our post last week about the snow fort, or about tree houses, buses in the desert, Airstreams in Malibu are all intended to entertain and inspire.

We are on Cape Cod.  People love this place – they will camp in Dune Shacks in Ptown, in a Sandy Neck Village cottage, in a Yurt in Nickerson Park, on a boat in Stage Harbor, in a tent overlooking the Baythey’ll even stay in their cars in a rest area!!

All the things we write about could exist here – it just takes painting a picture.  And, of course, we’ll manage it for you!

Nestled into the pristine lowlands, The Open Book is a charming bookshop with apartment above in the heart of Wigtown, Scotland’s National Book Town. Live your dream of having your very own bookshop by the sea in Scotland…for a week or two.

So this article is about a bookstore in Wigtown, a remote village on Scotland’s sea-swept west coast.  The storybook little town, population 900, has 14 book-themed shops.

It’s Scotland’s National Book Town.

For a mere $52 per night you can run “The Open Book” and sleep upstairs.  You can make your own displays, redo the windows, rearrange the books, make recommendations to customers and, presumably, have a wee goldie while you do it!!

And this isn’t the only amazing opportunity available in Wigtown – you can run a real traditional pub for just a few dollars more ($78). And, presumably, have a few wee goldies while you do it.

You can ‘book’ the Bookstore here, you can read the story about it here.

Hmmm.  This could be a solution to our J1 problem.

‘Book’ this Scottish Treasure … And Think About Cape Cod.
