Tradition holds color has a spiritual dimension which affects both mood and physical health because we don't just notice colors, we experience them. Every color has its own personality which transforms nature's energy into our individual experience.

‘Modern science’ supports the belief that color has an incredibly powerful effect on our mind and body, guiding and teaching us, impacting upon our moods and mental state through our interpretation of small shifts in the bursts of photon streams. In business, the choice of exactly the right colors is seen as critical to success in fields as diverse as architecture and consumer packaged foods marketing.

COLOR EFFECTS METABOLISM

Color has a dramatic effect on metabolism, sleeping, feeding and temperature patterns. Color plays a significant role in how we determine what is "real", and familiar patterns of color let us shift from "vigilance" to the feeling of being "at home".

Consider this simple demonstration. Certain rods and cones in your eye are stimulated by the color of the apple, and they transmit coded messages to your brain. If you are hungry (your physical condition), certain hormones will be released that can make your mouth water, your stomach growl, even keep you awake. Put your mouse over the picture and see if, with the color gone, you feel differently about it.

THE RELATIONSHIP IS NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD

The precise relationship between color and health has not yet been defined on a systematic, scientific basis, but many traditional definitions may be confirmed by further research.
